July 2024

Dear Members and Friends -

We hope you had a happy and safe Independence Day weekend.  We wanted to share a few things with you.

Crime Prevention Thursday
At our last Crime Prevention Thursday Session (Thursday, June 20th), we were joined by commercial and residential property management representatives who shared with us their best practices for property management.  We learned what they need most from us as well as informing them as to what we need from them.  It was a great discussion.  For those unable to attend the session, it was recorded and is available for viewing via our website in the Members Section.

Did you know that the DEA has Community Outreach Specialists?  Me neither.  Join us for our next Crime Prevention Thursday, July 18, 2024 to meet Marcus Pickett, Community Outreach Specialist for the DEA serving Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.  Let’s learn about how the program started, what Mr. Pickett does, and what resources may be able for your communities.  To register for this Session please go here.  After you register, you will receive a link for the Zoom session.

Access to the Members Only Section of the website
We’ve noted some confusion about accessing the Members Only section of our website.  First, you must be a dues-paying member, either individually or through your agency, to gain access.  You would go to the Log In | Register tab on the upper right of the home page.  If you are a member, we have your email on file, and you would use that email to register.  Once you have registered you will get an email from “no-reply@editmysite.com” that looks like the one below.

You need to click the link to show the system that you have accepted your registration.  From that point you can use Log In to access the Members Only portion of our website.  We can see in our system that many of you have received this email but have yet to click the link to activate your access.  We ask you to do so to take full advantage of your membership.  If you encounter any issues or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Others of you have asked for access but are not actual dues-paying members.  For those who are not members, please do join the Association.  Which brings me to…
